ACTING CLASSES

Unleash your inner artist with an acting class at Delaware Theatre Company! Whether it's embracing spontaneity or refining your performance skills, our professional teaching artists strive to create a rich environment to help you explore the process of art. 

FOR KIDS & TEENS:

PLAYMAKERS - Ages 8-12


Build your acting skills and creative expression techniques while playing theatre games and working with other actors on creating, rehearsing, and performing an original short play!  Showcase your work for family and friends on the last day of class!  New and returning performers welcome!

ACTING FOR TEENS - Ages 13-18


Develop and refine acting skills while working on scripted scenes and/or monologues.  Theatre games and exercises round out the activities to help building physical and vocal energy!  Showcase your works-in-progress for family and friends during the final class!  All experience-levels welcome.

FOR ADULTS (Ages 18+) :

ACTING II - Ages 18 +

Ready to take on the next step for actors?  Have fun while exploring characters and scenes in this six-week course!  Take on the actor’s role of examining scripts, finding characters’ objectives, and exploring various acting techniques to bring out your richest performance.  Though there is no prerequisite, students should be ready to participate, to jump in and work together, and have fun!

IMPROV ACTING TECHNIQUE FOR ADULTS - Ages 18 +


Sharpen your acting skills in imagination, communication, characterization, and expression as you delve into the world of improvisation!  Combining fun improv games to stretch your acting muscles and improv technique as an approach to scene work and storytelling, the course is for developing actors with varying levels of experience.   Prerequisite:  None, but students must be ready to participate enthusiastically at the outset of the course.

CLASS POLICIES

Refund policy: In the event enrollment is full or DTC cancels a course, a full refund will be made. Partial refunds (tuition less $50 administrative fee) may be given if student gives written notice of withdrawal within three business days following the start of a course. After the third business day following the start of a course, tuition is non-refundable.

 

Attendance Policy: No make-up classes or reductions in fees are provided for students who miss class. Regular attendance and participation are strongly encouraged. No guests are admitted to observe except at specified showcase times.

Registration: In addition to online registration, you can call the box office at 302-594-1100, or the Education Department 302-594-1104 ext. 204 or 249.  Registration must be completed and all fees paid by three business days before the start of class.  Registrations and payments are not accepted at the door.  Thank you!
